We want the audition experience to be clear, welcoming, and artistically energizing. We're positive that it's easier than taking the LSAT. But be serious. Review the details before signing up.
Audition Dates
Mark your calendar and plan ahead. The primary audition date is Saturday, May 30, 2026, but we are making a limited number of audition spots available in the evening on Tuesday, May 26, for those who can not attend Saturday. If spots fill up, we will add more. If none of the available times work for you, email info@newheightsonstage.org. We will make every effort to find an alternative.
Auditions: Singing & Dancing
Saturday, May 30, 10am–3pm
Alternate: Tuesday, May 30, 6-9:30pm*
Callbacks: Scene & Solo Work**
Sunday, May 31, Noon–4pm

*Those auditioning at 8:00 pm on Tuesday will only have 30 minutes to learn the dance combination.
**If you are unable to attend Callbacks, you may still be considered for a lead or featured role based on the strength of your initial audition.
What to Prepare
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to your audition time to sign in & warm up
- Prepare 32 bars of a song (NOT from Legally Blonde) that shows off your voice.
- Bring clearly marked sheet music for the accompanist OR
- Sing to a karaoke track played from your phone cued to the start of your audition. We recommend bringing your own bluetooth speaker for efficiency, but we will have one available.
What to Expect
Here’s a step-by-step look at what audition day will look like so you can arrive prepared and confident. Your audition will take two hours.
1. Check In
When you arrive, you’ll check in, confirm your information, and receive
any final instructions for the day.
2. Put on your badge
Every actor auditioning will receive a numbered badge to place on the outside of their clothing where it can be easily seen.
3. Warm Up
Space will be available for you to stretch, do vocal warmups, and practice your audition.
4. Vocal Audition
A group of 10-12 actors will enter the audition room together. One-by-one, you will perform your audition pieces for the director & music director. When not performing, be a respectful and encouraging audience.
5. Learn the Dance Combination
Following your vocal audition, you will have 50 minutes to learn a dance combination from our choreographer. Dress for vigorous movement. (The final group auditioning on Tuesday will only have 30 minutes to learn the dance combination.)
6. Head Home and Watch for Updates
Once your portion of the audition is complete, you’ll be free to go.
